Thank you for taking the time to look at my website.
The complementary therapies I offer are all therapies I feel passionately
about and I would like to share with you briefly how I arrived at
having such a wonderful career in complementary health.
I have always had a real interest in psychology
and at the age of twenty four I decided to take a risk and leave
my civil service job and enrol on a Psychology of Human communication
degree course. I loved the course and graduated in 1997 with a first
class honours degree, BSc (hons). After I graduated I began a career
in Human Resource Management with Anderson Consulting (now Accenture)
and stayed in that field until 2002 when my first son William was
born.
William was born with an undetected serious heart
defect which required him to have open heart surgery when he was
twelve days old. As you can imagine our world was turned upside
down during that time but I am pleased to say that many positive
things have come from the experience. When you are faced with a
life and death situation it really emphasises what is important
in your life such as health, family and happiness. We learned not
to take anything for granted and to enjoy what we have living for
the moment. Having gone through this experience with William I realised
that I was not happy to go back into my old career which could be
very stressful dealing with lots of negative energy on a daily basis.
I became involved with a charity called ADAPT which helps families
who have had babies needing neo-natal intensive care. Eventually
I began to work for the charity supporting families whilst their
babies were on the intensive care unit and I still run a family
support group for the charity.
After I had my second son, Jack I took the opportunity
to retrain and I knew that I wanted a career in Complementary health.
I can truly say that the complementary health courses have been
life changing and I have learnt so much about myself and how I lead
my life. I have always known about the power of the mind but I now
truly understand the effect our beliefs and attitude have on our
lives and health. I have gained an understanding of the law of attraction
in that we get what we think about or in the words of www.tut.com
"thoughts become things.....choose the good ones".
I am now qualified as a Gentle Touch™ reflexologist,
Reiki Practitioner, EFT Practitioner and am qualified in Hopi Ear
candles and Indian Head Massage. I really love what I do and I am
eager to expand my knowledge even further so please check for new
treatments that I may offer in the future.
